Lame duck UN resolutions will reap catastrophic consquences on the world

The entire country of Israel is equivalent to the size of the state of New Jersey. The disputed land is known as the West Bank, which Israel recaptured in 1967 after a surprise attack by Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The war became known as the Six-Day war. The Arabs launched another surprise attack (known as the Yom Kippur War) in 1973 and lost.

I wrote this blog post because my spirit is heavy and my heart hurts -- as I am taken aback by what the Obama Administration did to the tiny nation of Israel earlier this week. Granted, I know that Mr. Obama has never been a fan of Israel, but to do something of this magnitude at the tail end of his presidency is almost beyond comprehension.

In fact, I am going to be blunt and say that we are witnessing the first steps of an international effort to cleanse the Middle East of the Jewish people.

The Fact of the Matter

For the first time in 40 years, the United States of America departed from its position as key ally to the one and only Middle Eastern democracy to join the growing anti-Semitic international chorus comprising those who want to destroy the Jews, their homeland and their heritage.

By withholding a veto to the recent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution, which condemns the so-called Israeli settlements, the Obama Administration deems Israeli construction in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) illegal, forcing a nation already the size of New Jersey back to the indefensible borders of 1967.

To put this into perspective for those unfamiliar with the matter, a nation 70 miles in diameter is now, in many parts of Israel, only NINE to TWELVE miles wide, according to this new resolution.

The 850,000 Jews living in the West Bank could be forced to leave their homes if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proves unsuccessful in defying the new international mandate. On the other side of the West Bank is the coalition government between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, the Iran-funded terrorist organization that launches missiles into Israel everyday.

Pause, and let that sink in for a moment.

The United States of America via the UNSC just gave land to one of the most oppressive governments in the world. A government that not only harbors terrorists but also partners with them to achieve a common goal: To rid the world of the Jewish state of Israel. The Hamas terrorists use Palestinian civilians as human shields -- a strategy employed to turn the world against Israel when an innocent life is taken by a retaliatory strike by the Jewish state.

It is also worth noting that before retaliation, the Israeli government issues formal warnings to Palestinian civilians so that they have time to take shelter and avoid being caught in the crossfire. I mean, who does this? A democratic, civilized state does. Additionally, citizens who are caught in the crossfire are then transported to Israeli hospitals, where Muslims and Jews work side by side caring for the injured.

Can't Buy Me Love

In response to American backlash against this resolution, liberal talking heads -- speaking to dumbed down viewers -- tout the fact that the Obama Administration has done more to help fund Israel's missile defense system (the Iron Dome) than any other administration in U.S. history.

But I ask this: What good is the Iron Dome if this resolution renders it impotent?

Remember, according to this resolution, the nation of Israel is now only 9 to 12 miles across in many areas. The Iron Dome simply does not have the capability to track and take out a missile launched from such a short distance. Additionally, with the gain in territory, Tel Aviv is now within striking distance of Hamas rockets.

I highly doubt that President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are naive to these facts. As I said earlier, they depend on a dumbed down American populace to accept their talking points at face value.

Well, I don't.

I also don't buy the argument that because John Kerry is Jewish that this somehow ordains his position regarding the Holy Land as, well, holy. As the Apostle Paul states boldly in the book of Romans, "Not all Israel is Israel," referring to the believing Jewish remnant whose love for God was spawned by genuine faith and not by works.

Did you know?
  • In 2009, Netanyahu conducted an anonymous survey of Muslims living in the West Bank, asking them which government they prefer to live under -- Israeli or Palestinian Authority. Ninety-seven percent of these Muslims said they preferred Israeli rule to PA rule. This, along with the required anonymity of the survey, is telling.
  • During 2016, the United Nations issued 20 resolutions against the nation of Israel including women's rights violations. This, when the countries that make up the UN Human Rights Council consist of some of the most horrendous violators of women's rights in the world such as Saudi Arabia. Two-thirds of this year's UN resolutions alone went against Israel.
  • Also this year, the UN began recognizing Jewish holy sites by Islamic names and rejecting Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, although Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital for more than 3,000 years.
  • The United Nation's 1947 Partition Plan included a two-state solution to which the newly formed Jewish nation happily agreed, as many of its citizens had just migrated to Israel from Germany, surviving one of the greatest ethnic cleansing schemes in world history -- Adolf Hitler's concentration camps. The Arabs said no. And on May 15, 1948, a coalition of Arab nations launched a surprise attack on Israel. There were only 600,000 Jews living in Israel at the time. It was nothing short of a miracle that Israel won that war.
  • Another surprise war was launched in 1967, which Israel won again against great odds. It was after this war that Israel vowed never to return to 1967 borders, as they are clearly indefensible.
Up until the past few decades, the world (particularly the West) saw evil as evil and good as good. They understood that to appease evil is to enable it to grow like wildfire. I would argue that the world, including Israel, is experiencing the wrath of unbridled appeasement.

We either identify our enemy and hold it accountable, or we look the other way out of a misinterpreted Biblical view of "loving our enemies" -- and go the way of Israel.

Because the conflict doesn't end at Jerusalem.
